The watered down version of the story the princess kisses the frog for returning her golden ball and he turn into a prince (Prince Ambrose.) They then get married and live happily ever after. I was never big on the happily ever afters I liked the real versions where the morals aren't as sugar coated. In "Iron Henry" the princess breaks her promise to the frog even after he brought her ball back. Instead of kisses she throws the frog against the wall at the mere thought of kissing a frog.
Unfortunately for my poor frog Herbert, he heard the story of the "Frog Prince" and thought that he would be showered with kisses if he impersonated Prince Ambrose. When he returned the princesses golden ball from out of the well and asked for his kiss she thew him (she read the story of "Iron Henry") to her surprise he stayed a frog.
I hope to at least place in the top 10 for the contest we'll see.........
